45W GaN Chargers: The Ultrabook and Tablet Tier

45W is the quiet workhorse tier: enough for ultrabooks, tablets and every phone, below the price of the 65W class. The documented series spans single-port, A+C and 2C layouts, a foldable US group, and the KR-plug T series.

Combined-port splits are printed per model — the A+C models publish a 20W + 18W split, which is the figure to quote for two-device use.

Where 45W wins

For phone-led channels, 45W is headroom: modern phones negotiate 9V and PPS steps well below the ceiling, so the user experience matches a 65W unit while the unit cost drops a tier. For laptop channels, 45W covers ultrabooks and tablets honestly but should not be sold against performance notebooks — that is the 65W series' job. The T series deserves a special note: it is the only group that documents a KR (Korea) plug standard, with CE and RoHS listed on both models — if your program ships to Korea, start here and confirm KC scope at quotation, as the model pages list CE/RoHS rather than KC.

Foldable versus straight

The U models carry foldable US plugs; the M and Y models are straight-plug across US, EU and UK. Foldable mechanisms cost slightly more and travel better; straight plugs are the volume shelf format. Both publish identical electrical profiles at this tier, so the choice is commercial, not technical. Pair this series with the wattage selection guide if you are re-planning a shelf: it maps device classes to tiers so 45W lands where it sells.
